two separate offices responsible for the acquisition, disposition, and land management of  real estate public right of way, and other real property rights for the General Government, Tacoma Power, Water, and Rail.

Draft, review, negotiate, and provide legal counsel on a variety of real estate instruments and contracts for all City and TPU departments, including but not limited to development agreements, commercial and vacant land purchase and sale agreements, leases,  deeds, covenants and easements, power, water, sewer, and storm easements, CC &R’s, complex permits, licenses, contracts for construction, architectural and engineering services, consultant services, supply of goods, equipment, and vehicles, inter-local action, public-private development,  software license and maintenance, artwork, public sculpture, and more. Provide legal counsel and memorandum as to a variety of land use issues, including but not limited to building and land use permitting issues, zoning issues, GMA, SEPA, & SMA. Advocate Advise Public Works’ and Purchasing Divisions, as to applicable laws, procedures, and policies governing ‘public works’, public procurement, and public bidding.
